This 1986 85' Hatteras, is a must see!!! This yacht is a factory extended vessel, originally built at 77'. The aft cockpit and custom swim platform are an easy entry point to the vessel, with additional boarding opportunities up forward next to the pilothouse via a ladder, or a passerelle if one so desires. The custom swim platform was added by the current owner, and has stainless steel staples, multiple cleats, and a roller in the center to allow the deployment of a stern anchor.
The transom has an outward opening transom door, with an opening caprail portion to allow entry into the cockpit. Once in the cockpit, there are ample rodholders for fishing rods, deck brushes, and boat hooks. In the deck is a large hatch which allows access to stern thruster etc, as well as storage. There is an aft helm station, with gear, throttle, and thruster controls, to allow manuvering from the cockpit when backing in.
Through the salon
door, and up the stairs, you enter into a huge salon that shows the
decor from bygone era, with lots of whites and creams, gold, and
hints of pink from hidden access lighting. There is a dancefloor
under the current carpet, that holds hundreds of LED lights, which
correspond to the LED lights in the ceiling. This dance floor, and
the rotating entertainment system (yes, there is a cassette player,
bring your mix tapes) will ensure that there is always something to
dance about. There is a piano bar with a keyboard bartop, and an
actual keyboard behind for the aspiring musician, or hired
entertainer for the dinner party you're throwing. Original Faberge
artwork still adorns the salon.
Forward of the galley, is the pilothouse, with everything needed to run this vessel. This vessel is equipped with bow and stern thrusters, which can be run from all three stations. The pilothouse also has two screens for the closed circuit tv cameras in the engine room, to help you monitor engine room status underway. VHF, autopilot, SSB, radar, rudder angle indicator, hailer, intercom system (throughout vessel), engine gauges, depth and speed gauges, compass, Naiad Stabilizer controls, emergency engine shutoffs, main electrical panels AC/DC, spot/search lights, watermaker controls (dual), tank tender (fluid measurement system), can all be found here. Although older, all electronics work, and provide a capable navigation system. It would be the new owner's prerogative to upgrade to new.
From the pilothouse, one can exit port or stbd pilothouse doors, to access the foredeck and the ground tackle. Down the staircase forward of the pilothouse, one drops into the crew quarter area, where you will find new washer and dryer (full size units), and undercounter top of the line Subzero dual drawer style fridge and freezers for additional food storage for those extended trios being on anchor in far flung regions. There is also a good size wine cooler under the counter top. All of these appliances are new.
From the salon, down the portside stairs, and you are in the guest accommodation. There is a central day/shared head/shower for the portside double twin stateroom, the queen size VIP to stbd has an ensuite head and shower, and the master stateroom is foward with ensuite head and shower. all staterooms are spacious, with plenty of storage and cedar lined large closets. The master stateroom, is another highlight of the vessel, with original artwork, a forward bulkhead (headboard) with the Manhattan skyline as a backdrop when switched on, lots of mirrors, heaps of closet space, and soft accent lighting. It is quite something to behold! There is a total of 4 heads in the vessel.
Back to the aft cockpit, and the stairs up to the salon lift, and the entrance to the lazarette and engine room is revealed. The MTU 6V-396 engines push the vessel to a cruising speed of 17kts, and top speed of 22kts. Two 23kW Westerbeke gensets provide ample AC power at any time. All Air conditioning handlers, watermaker pumps and membranes etc are found in the engine room. The boat has been professionally maintained with regular fluid changes etc, and has been kept in excellent running condition. The engine and lazarette provide ample work spaces too. Loads of onboard spares.
